Premier Li Keqiang urged efforts to step up mass entrepreneurship and innovation in an instruction sent to the opening ceremony of a week-long national event on mass entrepreneurship and innovation on Oct 9 in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China’s Sichuan province.
The Premier highly values the progress made in the development of mass entrepreneurship and innovation in recent years, which played a key role in tapping the innovation potential and market vitality as well as boosting employment.
Under the current circumstance, Premier Li said, more efforts should be made to carry out the strategy of innovation-driven development and beef up mass entrepreneurship and innovation.
In addition, work on streamlining administration and delegating powers should be advanced, along with the construction of systems, including for intellectual property rights protection, in a bid to create an innovative international environment that is market-oriented and law-based for market entities, Premier Li said.
Meanwhile, service capability of the industrial internet should be further stepped up to facilitate enterprises’ upgrading of techniques and products all across the board, the Premier added. And Internet Plus peoples’ well-being should be propelled, with improvements made in the public service sector and people’s innovation capabilities coming into full play.
All this work will lay a solid groundwork for the cultivation of new growth drivers and improvements in China’s economic innovation and competitiveness, Premier Li said.
