State councilor meets permanent representatives of UN Security Council members

BEIJING — State Councilor and Minister of National Defense Wei Fenghe met with a visiting delegation comprised of permanent representatives of the United Nations (UN) Security Council members in Beijing on Nov 26.

Wei said that China firmly upholds the international system with the UN at the core and the Chinese military always sticks to the path of peaceful development.

He said China is willing to work with other countries to enhance cooperation in fields such as international peacekeeping, create a security pattern of fairness, justice, joint contribution and shared benefits, and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity as well as safeguarding both world and regional peace and stability.

The permanent representative of France to the UN Francois Delattre and permanent representative of Ethiopia to the UN Taye Atske Selassie Amde said on behalf of the visiting delegation that all countries appreciate and hope that China plays a greater role in international affairs.
