State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi called for deeper reform and innovation of the police affairs and service mechanism at a national conference on July 25.

He urged construction of a modern system for police affairs for the new phase of development.

Zhao said efforts must be made to improve actual combat capacity with efficient operation, promote reform for police affairs and services at the grassroots level and strive for strict and impartial law enforcement, as well as better management and services.

He stressed fulfilling tasks for safeguarding security and stability for the second half of the year, with better risk prevention and public safety management.
