BEIJING — China’s crude steel output grew 4.6 percent year on year to 201.1 million tons in the first quarter of 2017, compared with a slight drop for the same period of last year, an industry association said on April 26.

The rise was a result of more production capacity and a low comparison base last year, the China Iron and Steel Association said in a press release.
