YINCHUAN — Software and information technology service industries have developed swiftly in China, an official with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has said.
The industries’ business revenue hit 6.3 trillion yuan (about $926 billion) last year, up 14.2 percent year-on-year, said Xie Shaofeng, director of the information and software service department of MIIT, at a seminar held in Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
Total profit was 807.9 billion yuan, up 9.7 percent year-on-year. Per capita revenue was 981,000 yuan, up 9.6 percent. The profitability of the industries keeps rising, said the official.
The number of Chinese companies with annual revenue of 10 billion yuan reached 13.
Cities such as Fuzhou, Xiamen, Wuhan and Suzhou have become well-known for booming software industries, he said.
The competitiveness of China’s software and information technology industries keeps rising. Voice recognition, cloud computing, and database technologies have reached globally leading levels, according to the official.
