BEIJING — China's electronic information manufacturing sector reported steady expansion in the first 10 months of the year, official data showed.
Operating revenue of companies above designated size rose 4.7 percent year-on-year in the Jan-Oct period, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
During the period, the total profit of these companies increased 6 percent year-on-year, surpassing the 3.6-percent yearly growth pace in the first nine months.
Fixed-asset investment in the industry increased 13.6 percent year-on-year, up 2 percentage points from the first three quarters, according to the MIIT.
In October alone, the added value of the industry went up 8.2 percent year-on-year, while that of the first 10 months grew 8.8 percent from one year earlier.
In breakdown, computer manufacturing industry reported strong performance from January to October, with the operating revenue and total profit climbing 4.4 percent and 14 percent year-on-year, respectively.
In October, the industry saw the output of laptops expand 8.2 percent and that of tablets up 11.7 percent year-on-year.
MIIT data also showed the country's output of integrated circuit surged 23.5 percent year-on-year in October, while that of cellphones registered a yearly growth of 2.9 percent.
