BEIJING — China produced nearly 240 million pieces of furniture in the first four months of the year, down 16.8 percent year-on-year, official data has shown.
In April, Chinese furniture makers produced 72.3 million pieces, down 3.1 percent from last year, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
In the Jan-April period, the total revenue of Chinese furniture makers was 169.8 billion yuan ($23.93 billion), down 18.6 percent year-on-year, while their profit stood at 6.7 billion yuan, down 37.2 percent from last year.
