BEIJING — China's garment industry continued its streak of expansion in the first 11 months of last year, reporting growth in production, revenue and profit, official data showed.
From January to November last year, the combined operating revenue of 12,659 major garment companies was over 1.33 trillion yuan (about $209.48 billion), up 7.7 percent year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
Total profits of these companies rose 12.6 percent year-on-year to hit 66.7 billion yuan, with the combined output expanding 8.5 percent year-on-year to 21.3 billion pieces.
In the January-November period, the country's exports of garments and accessories surged 25.1 percent to $154.4 billion, the MIIT data showed.
