BEIJING — French Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve will pay an official visit to China from February 21 to 23 at the invitation of Premier Li Keqiang, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang announced on Feb 15.

Cazeneuve will meet President Xi Jinping and top legislator Zhang Dejiang and hold talks with Premier Li, Geng said at a regular press briefing.

Besides Beijing, Cazeneuve will also visit Wuhan, according to Geng.

China is willing to work with France to maintain the sound and stable development of bilateral relations and contribute to world peace, stability and development, he said.

“China hopes Cazeneuve’s visit will further deepen our friendship, promote pragmatic cooperation in all areas and have a positive impact on China-EU relations,” the spokesperson added.
