China and the United States have made progress in economic and trade deal negotiations but much work remains to be done, the Ministry of Commerce said on April 18.
The two sides are negotiating the text of the deal, including enforcement mechanisms, on the basis of mutual respect and benefit, said Gao Feng, ministry spokesman.
During the most recent consultations, the two sides discussed technology transfers, the protection of intellectual property rights, nontariff measures, the service sector, agriculture, trade imbalances, and enforcement mechanisms, according to earlier reports.
