NEW DELHI — The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Nov 30 reaffirmed its commitment to building a new type of international relations in the spirit of mutual respect, justice, equality and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Taking into account the views of the member states, the heads of SCO delegations also underscored the importance of working jointly to create a community of a common destiny for humankind.

In a joint communiqué following the 19th meeting of the Council of Heads of Governments chaired by the Vice-President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu, the heads of delegations reiterated the common disposition of the SCO member states to actively implement the results of the meeting of the Council of Heads of the SCO Member States on Nov 10 and expressed their support for chairmanship of Tajikistan in the organization in 2020-21.

They stressed that the SCO has established itself as an influential and responsible participant in international relations, an effective platform for strengthening multilateralism and the rule of international law, above all the UN Charter, as well as ensuring reliable security and sustainable socio-economic development.
