Picture taken on May 22 shows the Ningmo tunnel installed with 220 kilovolt (KV) cables, which received digitalization upgrading based on technologies including big data, Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence. The Ningmo 220 KV cable tunnel, stretching for almost 6 kilometers, started operation as the main line for power transmission of the ring network connecting the east and west of the urban area of Nanjing, East China’s Jiangsu province, in September 2016. The upgrading process enabled over 800 sensors to perform real-time information collection, making it available for follow up and control of real-time situations of the tunnel and its circuits. Workers are able to collect various data from the tunnel at the comprehensive monitoring center. In addition, the tunnel is also equipped with detecting robots, firefighting robots, thermometry optical fibers and more. With the application of synergic man-machinery detecting mode, real-time trouble-shooting can play a big part in safeguarding power consumption safety. [Photo/Xinhua]
