Expressway to revive poverty-stricken mountainous area in Hainan

A technician of the Shanhai Expressway project group under the China Railway No 19 Engineering Group inspects the quality of steel welding on-site in Haitangwan, Sanya, Oct 13.The overall length of the Shanhai Expressway is 56 km, starting from Wuzhishan's Tongshi town, to Sanya's Haitang district. Currently, 51 percent of the investment has been completed for the civil work. Shanhai Expressway will improve the transportation of poverty-stricken mountainous area in Hainan. Tourism resources of mountainous areas in central Hainan and Sanya will be connected and integrated.The Sanya tourism economic circle will be formed to help revive poverty-stricken rural areas in Wuzhishan, Hainan.[Photo/Xinhua]
