Defense Minister Chang Wanquan held talks with visiting Indonesian counterpart Purnomo Yusgiantoro on bilateral ties on Sept 22.

The presidents of the two countries have agreed to lift bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership, Chang said, hailing the constant development of the bilateral cooperation in defense and military-to-military relationship.

Chang, also a state councilor, said China is willing to work with Indonesia to strengthen their exchanges and cooperation.

Purnomo said Indonesia is prepared to cooperate with China in more fields so as to strengthen bilateral defense ties.
