China announces national holiday for V-Day celebration

BEIJING — The State Council said on May 13 there will be a national holiday on Sept 3 for this year’s celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory in World War II.

The move aims to allow people around the country to participate in activities to commemorate China’s victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War.
