China will put forward policies on cultivating teachers in rural areas, such as dispatching more teachers, encouraging college graduates to volunteer in rural areas, providing subsidies and starting a national training program for teachers in rural areas, said Minister of Education Yuan Guiren before the opening of the fourth session of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at the Great Hall of the People on March 3.
He said teachers in the countryside help support China’s rural education and contribute to the growth of children in rural areas, and the obvious education gap between urban and rural areas can be bridged only by teachers.
The government released a guideline on the support of countryside teachers, showing the country’s great resolve on this issue, said Yuan.
He also said that China will not only increase teachers’ salaries, but also help improve their living conditions and give honorary titles to those who have served in rural areas for over 10 years, 20 years and even 30 years.

Minister of Supervision Huang Shuxian said that the anti-corruption fight will become more severe in China, and he will pay more attention to corruption issues reported by the people and put forward more new anti-corruption measures this year.

Transportation Minister Yang Chuantang said he expected that regulations on the car-hailing sector will be released as soon as possible to better regulate the market, when asked by reporters about when the regulation will be issued.
