BEIJING — China is willing to push forward the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Aug 31.
A two-day summit and expo regarding CPEC started in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, on Aug 29, aiming to provide a platform for exchanging ideas, opening new avenues for business, and exploring opportunities in CPEC.
CPEC represents a consensus reached by the two governments and is important for connectivity and cooperation in trade and economy, spokesperson Hua Chunying told a press conference.
At present, China and Pakistan have good communication and coordination, and relevant projects are showing smooth progress, Hua said.
She expressed her hope that achievements in CPEC would benefit the peoples of both countries as soon as possible.
