The State Council announced a reshuffle of several senior government officials on Nov 21.

Gou Zhongwen was appointed minister of the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC) and executive co-chairman of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games.

The State Council appointed Chen Zhigang as deputy director of the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, and Cai Qi as executive co-chairman of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games.

Liu Peng and Zheng Wenkai were removed from their posts, along with Wang Anshun.
