The State Council dispatched 18 inspection groups to different provincial regions on July 16 to examine the performance of the local governments.
They will inspect whether local governments have effectively implemented major public policies, including the administrative reform of cutting red tape and improving public services, cutting corporate taxes and fees, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, investment projects and medical reform.
Groups will spend eight to 10 days in each provincial region. They will talk with entrepreneurs, scientific researchers, government officials and ordinary people and carefully listen to their opinions. Questionnaire surveys, random checks and seminars will also be organized.
A hotline will be launched in every region under inspection so citizens can directly submit their complaints and advice to the group members.
The inspection groups have promised to investigate citizens’ major concerns and urge local governments to solve problems as soon as possible.
The 18 provincial regions under inspection include Tianjin municipality, Shandong, Hebei, Shanxi, Guangdong provinces and Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
