BEIJING — Delegates to the 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) National Congress started to arrive in Beijing on Oct 15.
The first delegation arriving from outside the capital is from Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Li Feng’e, one of the delegates and a teacher in Inner Mongolia, said she was excited to attend the congress.
“Education facilities have improved a lot in pastoral areas in recent years,” she said. “I hope there will be more supporting policies for education in ethnic minority regions.”
The congress, a five-yearly event, will be convened in Beijing, starting Oct 18. During the year, 2,287 delegates have been selected to attend the event.
Attendees will include high-ranking government officials, Party leaders, and military officers as well as grassroots Party members from “front line production and manufacturing” such as workers, farmers, technicians, nurses and teachers.
A report to be made by the 18th CPC Central Committee to the 19th CPC National Congress, a work report of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) to the congress, as well as an amendment to the CPC Constitution will be submitted for examination and deliberation.
