WUHAN — Huanggang, a coronavirus-hit city in Hubei province, has launched a telemedicine platform for 14 designated hospitals for fighting the COVID-19 to seek intelligence support from top hospitals.
The 5G-based platform is capable of facilitating remote consultations, remote imaging, ultrasounds, electrocardiogram diagnoses, training and video conferencing among medics at Huanggang's hospitals and key medical institutions in Wuhan, the provincial capital.
Such a platform will facilitate timely consultations to ease the pressure on Huanggang's insufficient medical resources, said Liu Zhipeng, director of a makeshift hospital in Huanggang.
