BEIJING — Here are the latest developments on the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China:
— Xiaotangshan Hospital, which was previously used to quarantine SARS patients in Beijing, saw its first COVID-19 patient discharged after recovery on March 30.
— China's Hubei province, hit hard by the COVID-19 outbreak, will see a 20 percent increase in the annual recruitment of civil servants.
— The Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation said on March 30 they will donate additional urgent equipment to hospitals in Europe to assist their fight against the novel coronavirus.
— A hospital designated for treating critically ill COVID-19 patients in Wuhan was closed on March 30 as the number of hospitalized patients keeps falling in the city.
— The leading group of China's COVID-19 response on March 30 stressed the control of cases of infections that show no symptoms.
— East China's Zhejiang province will step up efforts in reducing the risk of asymptomatic transmission of COVID-19, with all people tested positive without showing any symptoms treated in strict accordance with the requirements for confirmed cases.
— China will encourage companies to expand the production of medical supplies to help the global fight against COVID-19 while ensuring the quality of these exports, the Ministry of Commerce said on March 30.
— The city government of Wuhan said on March 30 that 61 hospitals designated for treating COVID-19 patients have been reopened to the public after disinfection.
— The National Health Commission received reports of 31 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland on March 29, of which 30 were imported.
A new domestic case was reported in Gansu province.
— Wuhan continued to report no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on March 29.
The health commission of Hubei, of which Wuhan is the capital, said on March 30 the province also registered zero increase in new COVID-19 cases on March 29. Four new deaths were recorded, all of which were in Wuhan.
— A total of 322 patients of COVID-19 were discharged from the hospital on March 29 on the Chinese mainland.
Altogether 75,770 patients had been discharged from the hospital after recovery by the end of March 29.
