WUHAN — Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province, has revoked the "epidemic-free" status of 45 residential compounds mainly due to the emergence of asymptomatic cases, local authorities said.
The city has given "epidemic-free" status to 6,988 residential compounds in total, 45 fewer than previous report, according to the latest notice issued by the provincial COVID-19 control headquarters.
Hu Yabo, executive deputy mayor of Wuhan, said the city's residential communities will continue closed-off management, and residents passing through communities' entries must have their temperature checked and wear a mask as the city guards against a rebound in the outbreak.
No new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported on April 5 in Hubei province, despite an increase of 35 asymptomatic patients, the Health Commission of Hubei said on April 6.
