Latest developments in epidemic control on April 28

BEIJING — Here are the latest developments on the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China:

— China's National Health Commission said on April 27 that it received reports of three new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland on April 26, of which two were imported. No deaths were reported on April 26 on the mainland.

— A total of 12 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospital after recovery in Central China's Hubei province on April 26, bringing the number of COVID-19 patients still in hospitals in the province to zero.

— The Yellow Crane Tower, a landmark tourist attraction in Wuhan, the Chinese city once hard hit by the novel coronavirus, will reopen on April 29.

— Nearly 50,000 senior students of high schools in Beijing returned to schools to start their postponed semester on April 27 as the COVID-19 epidemic situation has eased.
