BEIJING — Here are the latest developments on the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China:
— Chinese health authority said on May 1 that it received reports of 12 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland April 30, of which six were imported.
The other six new cases were domestically transmitted, including five in Heilongjiang province and one in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the National Health Commission said in a daily report.
No deaths were reported on April 30 on the mainland, according to the commission.
— Altogether 131 domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases were reported on the Chinese mainland in April, and cluster infections in Heilongjiang province accounted for more than 60 percent of the cases, according to Mi Feng, a spokesperson for the National Health Commission.
— Central China's Hubei province will lower its novel coronavirus emergency response level from the highest to the second-highest starting May 2, according to Yang Yunyan, vice-governor of Hubei.
— China has provided strong support to the international community in the global fight against the COVID-19, with its daily export of anti-epidemic supplies more than tripling to over 3 billion yuan (about $425.1 million) last month, according to data from the General Administration of Customs.
