China appoints new representative to UN agencies

BEIJING — The State Council, China's cabinet, has appointed Zhou Pingjian permanent representative to the United Nations Environment Programme and permanent representative to the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.

The appointment was announced on Sept 3.
