The Chinese government is moving to improve the quality and post-sales service standards of made-in-China products. Premier Li Keqiang said during a State Council meeting on Aug 25 that the government will institute a series of compulsory national standards to make products safer.

The Premier said China will also build a consumer product quality tracking system. The system will provide a standardized procedure for the withdrawal of defective products and for compensating customers. Lastly, Premier Li said the government will promote an upgrade of the Made-in-China industry chain, and lower industry access thresholds for consumer products.
