The world’s oldest giant panda Basi celebrated her 37th birthday on Jan 18. She inspired the creation of ‘Pan Pan,’ the official mascot of the 1990 Beijing Asian Games.
Basi remains in good health, owing to a team from Panda Research and Exchange Center in Fuzhou, East China’s Fujian province, who provides her with round-the-clock care.
