A coordination group led by Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli to push forward the government’s transformation of its functions was established by the State Council.
The move comes amid deepening administrative streamlining and the further delegation of power to lower levels, according to a statement issued by the General Office of the State Council on April 21.
State councilors Yang Jing and Wang Yong were named deputy heads of the group which will focus on studying major reform measures in key areas, and issues to be presented to the executive meeting of the State Council for approval, the statement said.
The group will also help to tackle problems and difficulties during the reforms, guide related work of local governments, and ensure they put reform measures in place, it said.
The group consists of six teams covering reforms of administrative and investment approvals, professional qualifications, regulation of administrative charges, commercial registration, as well as reforms on education, science and technology, healthcare, the media and physical education.
Another four teams will be responsible for coordinating different teams and inspections.
