China released a list of 100 State facilities and sites on Aug 24 that will mark the 70th anniversary of victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1937-45), which falls on Sept 3. The list, the second of its kind, outlines sites related to events involving Japanese war crimes and Japan’s surrender, as well as locations where Chinese forces led by the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Kuomintang fought Japanese invaders, according to a statement released by the State Council.

Departments and local governments have been instructed to enhance protection over the sites and display to the public historical materials and publicize heroic deeds concerning the war, the statement said.

They are also required to educate the public, especially teenagers, to fully understand the extent of war crimes committed by the Japanese occupiers and appreciate China’s contribution to victory in the anti-fascist war.
