A joint ministerial conference system will be established to promote development of the service trade, according to a document released by the State Council on Sept 17.

The main function of the system is to coordinate related works in service trade development, which includes: researching policies and measures; promoting service import and export; establishing innovative pilot areas and specialized service export bases; solving problems and promoting successful experiences.

The joint conference is made up of 39 ministries and departments, with the Ministry of Commerce leading the effort. Other ministries and departments can be invited to join the conference as needed.
