The State Council has approved establishing an inter-ministerial joint conference system to better implement a national intellectual property strategy and accelerate invigorating the country through intellectual property.
Under the guidance of the State Council, the inter-ministerial joint conference will take charge of the overall coordination, research on major policies and formulate plans concerning the implementation of a national intellectual property strategy.
It will also be responsible for the guidance, supervision and inspection of the implementation of related policies and measures, coordinating work on major issues in the process.
The joint conference will include 31 organs, including State Council departments and agencies such as the Intellectual Property Office, Information Office of the State Council and the National Development and Reform Commission, as well as the Military Equipment Department of the Central Military Commission.
State Councilor Wang Yong will lead the conference, along with Jiang Zelin, deputy secretary of the State Council, and Shen Changyu, director of the Intellectual Property Office.
The joint conference’s office will be set up at the Intellectual Property Office, with the head of the office also serving as director of the conference. The office will also take charge of the routine work of the conference.
The joint conference will hold regular and occasional meetings as needed.
