Efforts will be made to promote new agricultural business entities in a bid to improve farmers’ income and build a modern agricultural industry, according to a joint circular issued by two central offices.
The General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of the State Council set objectives in the circular, planning to build investment and policy implementation and review mechanisms that are in line with WTO rules and national financial development, and promote the development of a modern agricultural industry by 2020.
Efforts will also be made to boost diversification, business scale, benefit distribution, and development quality of new agricultural business entities, according to the circular.
To support the development, policy systems will also be built in sectors such as finance and taxation, infrastructure construction, credit financing, insurance, and talent training.
In addition, the agricultural business management system will be enhanced by recruiting professional and part-time workers and college-graduate village officials.
