The State Council approved establishing an inter-ministerial joint conference system for private education, as requested by the Ministry of Education.

According to a statement released by the State Council on Aug 14, the mechanism is aimed at coordinating different ministries to tackle problems in the development of non-government funded education.

As stated in the document, the conference system will take responsibility to encourage private funds into education, strengthen supervision on private educational institutions, and promote cooperation between different regions for experience sharing.

The system, led by the Ministry of Education, will involve ministries, commissions and institutions, such as the State Commission Office for Public Sector Reform, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
