The State Council decided to launch a nationwide evaluation on the work to ensure wages for migrant workers, an annual campaign that will last from 2017 to 2020.

According to the circular, the evaluation, under the lead of the State Council, will focus on the regulatory responsibilities of local authorities in safeguarding payments for migrant workers.

As the latest effort to promote social fairness and harmony, the evaluation will prevent and root out delayed wages for the group, and protect their legal rights.

In addition to reports by local authorities, the evaluation will also be conducted through on-site verification, sample surveys, and interviews.

The evaluation results will fall into three categories: A, B, and C, and those rated as C will be interviewed and marked for corrections.

Fraud and other manipulative behaviors will not be tolerated, and violators will be reported and investigated in serious cases, the circular stated.
