The State Council recently issued a circular urging disclosure of annual reports on government website supervision and work on government websites.

General offices of provincial-level governments and State Council departments are required to compile and publish annual reports on the supervision of government websites within their administration.

The reports should cover results of random security checks, website launching and combination, handling messages sent by netizens about mistakes on websites, cracking down on fake websites, and personnel training.

Also, all levels of governments are responsible for publishing annual work reports of their websites, which should include the work of information disclosure, special columns, policy explanations and response to public concerns, administrative services, security protection, and innovation development.

The reports should be published and highlighted on the websites before Jan 31, according to the circular.

All levels of government should ensure the authenticity of data and information, the circular stated.
