The State Council has approved upgrading a high-tech industrial development zone in Zhanjiang city, Guangdong province, to a national high-tech development zone.
Called the Zhanjiang High-tech Development Zone, this area will enjoy the current preferential policies for national high-tech development zones.
The development zone will own a planning area of 15.02 square kilometers, consisting of three blocks.
A complete implementation of an innovation-driven development strategy will be in place to gather resources in scientific and technological innovation and enhance the zone’s capability for independent innovation. A further advancement of mass entrepreneurship and innovation is expected, as is upgrading the traditional industries.
Overarching arrangements for land utilization and urban development will be strictly carried out, with all undertakings conducted as prescribed. Meanwhile, land supplies will be processed according to law, primarily for the operation of industries.
Supervision and regulation will be further strengthened in order to facilitate more improvements in shaping the ecosystem for the development zone.
