The State Council reshuffled the leadership of the working group for cracking down on intellectual property rights (IPR) infringements and counterfeits, according to a circular issued on Oct 29.
Based on the circular, State Councilor Wang Yong will take the helm as the group head, flanked by two deputy heads — Zhang Mao, director of the State Administration for Market Regulation, and Meng Yang, deputy secretary-general of the State Council.
The leadership of the working group consists of wide-ranging departments and commissions, including the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The group’s office will be at the State Administration for Market Regulation, which will undertake its routine work.
