The State Council issued a circular on Nov 26 praising 130 practices by local governments.
The circular praised the reform of the work permit system for foreigners launched by the Beijing municipal government, the platform for attracting investment established in Tianjin Binhai new area, and efforts to prevent pollution in Shanxi province.
Other efforts from local governments being praised included practices in Shanghai, Chongqing, Hebei, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Hainan, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous regions.
The circular said that local governments set great examples in preventing major risks, performing targeted poverty reduction, fighting air pollution, enhancing administrative reform, promoting innovation-driven development, advancing high-level opening-up, and improving people’s lives.
The State Council urged authorities at all levels to learn from these good examples and meet major targets and tasks for economic and social development for the year.
The praise was the result of the fifth nationwide inspection by the State Council, which is aimed at promoting the implementation of major policies made by the central government.
