China will make further efforts to fully implement the national strategy of standardization in 2017, according to Zhi Shuping, director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

Efforts will be made to carry out the new standardization law in 2017, build a new standardization system, and improve transparency of standardization management, Zhi said at a working conference for national standardization on Jan 16.

Tian Shihong, head of the Standardization Administration, said that efforts should be made to strengthen reform of enterprise standards management and set up a ranking list of standardization in major sectors.

Breakthroughs will be made in manufacturing standardization of sectors such as robots, rail transit equipment, and electric cars, and efforts will also be made to integrate military and civil standardizations, Tian said.

In 2016, China published 1,763 national standards, of which 631 are related to high technologies, including high-end industrial equipment manufacturing, new energy cars, new materials, and information security.
