China’s consumer market saw stable growth in the first half of 2017 as the retail sales of consumer goods reached 17.2 trillion yuan ($2.55 trillion), going up 10.4 percent year-on-year, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce Gao Feng said on July 20.
The retail sales of consumer goods in June went up 11 percent, the highest growth rate of a single month over the last 18 months, according to the spokesman.
Online retail sales remain strong with growth momentum as the sales reached 3.1 trillion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 33.4 percent, Gao said.
