BEIJING — China has issued three 10-point codes of conduct for teachers at different levels of educational institutions, according to the Ministry of Education on Nov 16.
The rules were differentiated in accordance with the type of institution where teachers work, namely kindergartens, primary/secondary schools, and higher education institutions.
The rules prohibit kindergarten teachers from teaching primary school subjects to preschool children, and forbid teachers of primary or secondary schools to provide paid tutoring services.
For college and university teachers, the rules emphasize academic integrity and strictly prohibit plagiarism.
The ministry called for zero tolerance for any violation of “the bottom lines”, and demanded the violator be disqualified from teaching and blacklisted if their violation is confirmed.
