BEIJING — The Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) has launched a nationwide campaign to safeguard road safety during the winter season, sources with the ministry said on Dec 7.

The campaign will strictly manage road traffic order, seriously deal with traffic offenses and firmly control traffic risks to provide the public with a good traffic environment, the sources said.

The campaign covers North, Northeast, East, Central South, Southwest and Northwest China regions.

According to the sources, local authorities in these areas will jointly act on key roads and vehicles, as well as prevent and control major illegal behaviors.
