BEIJING — Customs in East China’s Ningbo city seized counterfeits of lipsticks and perfume infringing the brand of Victoria’s Secret, according to the General Administration of Customs (GAC).

The fake products, including over 82,000 lipsticks and more than 18,000 bottles of perfume, have been detained by the GAC.

The customs warns that counterfeit cosmetics would do harm to people’s health as they are manufactured from poor-quality materials and do not meet the hygiene standards.

In the first quarter, China seized infringing goods worth 41.05 million yuan (about $6 million), involving 4,612 batches of imported and exported goods with 16.54 million items, GAC data showed.

The administration approved 2,714 applications for the protection of intellectual property rights in Q1, up 11.3 percent year-on-year.
