BEIJING — Output of China’s electronics information manufacturing industry continued to grow but at a slower pace in the first four months of the year, official data showed.
The sector’s combined output rose 9 percent year-on-year for January-April, with the pace of increase down from a rise of 12.6 percent registered in the same period of 2018, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
In April alone, the output jumped 12.4 percent from one year earlier, accelerating from the 10.2-percent growth in March.
In breakdown, the output of the telecom equipment manufacturers gained 8.6 percent year-on-year in the first four months, but mobile phone output shrank 10.9 percent from one year earlier. Output of computer manufacturers was up 3.9 percent during the period.
The sector’s revenue and export value rose 6.1 percent and 4.9 percent respectively during the January-April period.
