State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun on Feb 7 stressed security measures in Beijing to ensure a safe and joyous Spring Festival holidays.
On Chinese New Year’s Eve, the state councilor inspected the capital’s security work and extended his warm greetings and best wishes to security personnel, including police officers, armed police, firefighters, and volunteers.
He visited police stations, fire stations, street security posts, and the command center of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.
He also inspected major security checkpoints and subway and airport security posts through video call.
He asked the security personnel to avoid any possible risks and be prepared to prevent any accidents such as fire during the holidays.
Security measures should be tightened to safeguard people’s lives and properties, he added.
