State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with Brunei’s Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Lim Jock Seng and Mohammad Yasmin, Brunei’s Minister of Energy and Industry, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on Sept 13, 2016.

Yang said that since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations 25 years ago, the two countries have continuously deepened their strategic mutual trust, expanded economic and trade cooperation, and increased people-to-people exchanges. Bilateral relations have developed quickly and healthily.

China is willing to work with Brunei to promote new progress for their bilateral strategic partnership, Yang added.

Lim and Yasmin spoke highly of China-Brunei relations, and expressed expectations for a better future of pragmatic cooperation.
