China to strengthen military cooperation with Malawi, Thailand

BEIJING — Defense Minister Chang Wanquan on Dec 12 said China is willing to strengthen military cooperation with Malawi and Thailand.

Chang made the remarks while meeting with Vincent Winstone Ghambi, Deputy Defense Minister of Malawi and Prawit Wongsuwan, First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Thailand.

While meeting with Vincent Winstone Ghambi, Chang spoke about the sound military cooperation between the two armies since the establishment of bilateral ties nine years ago, adding China is willing to make joint efforts with Malawi to expand cooperation and push forward the relations between the two armies.

The deputy defense minister thanked China’s various support and aid to Malawi and hoped to strengthen cooperation and boost relations between the two armies.

Chang said China is willing to maintain high-level exchange between Chinese and Thai armies and to strengthen cooperation in joint training and the industry of national defense.

Prawit said the Thai army will boost pragmatic cooperation with its Chinese counterpart, and help promote the development of bilateral ties.
