State Councilor Wang Yong urged local governments to conduct effective supervision on safety in production during his visit to Heilongjiang, China’s northernmost province, from Nov 14 to 16.
Wang visited some enterprises producing coal, steel, petrochemical and new materials, saying the government should prevent serious accidents and tackle safety risks.
He said that the guideline for production safety created at the 19th CPC National Congress should be implemented through effective measures.
As the end of the year approaches, more supervision should be conducted, especially in key industries such as mining, hazardous chemicals, transportation, building construction, and fireworks, he said.
