State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Botswana International Affairs and Cooperation Minister Unity Dow in Beijing on July 13.

Wang said the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation scheduled for this September is a landmark for the development of Sino-African relations.

China welcomes Botswana to participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and to attend the First China International Import Expo, which is to take place this November in Shanghai, said the state councilor.

Dow said Botswana’s President Mokgweetsi Masisi and his government firmly support the one-China policy, President Xi Jinping’s vision of building a community with a shared future for humankind and the Belt and Road Initiative. Botswana has been committed to maintaining multilateralism, she added.
